Housed in an 1820โ€™s plantation house, this quaint restaurant serves up delicious southern cuisine and a refreshing variety of ghostly tales. The most notable of these is that of the screaming lady, who has been sighted by diners and staff on many occasions since the establishment opened for business. Dressed in an old-fashioned outfit, her screams can be heard ringing out across the grounds, and visitors have seen her floating past windows, albeit on the second floor. The other spooks reported here include a crying baby, a mysterious hovering fog and a tall man dressed in black, whose presence is often accompanied by the aroma of pipe smoke. Overall, these hauntings do not detract from the old building, instead adding to its unique and historical charm.

ANTEBELLUM home circa 1827 that’s gorgeously appointed with numerous rooms both inside and out. Food is good and ranges from gulf seafood, shrimp, red snapper a blue crab casserole; to a magnificent steak and chicken dishes. It has an award winning pie acclaimed statewide. Did I mention the multiple ghost happening? Note I didnt say tourist trap ghost stories but GHOST HAPPENINGS. Go to YouTube and put in ghost stories Gaines Ridge Dinner Club and get blown away. Very real, whatever they are and very alarming. Stay away from the back stairs!!!๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿท๐Ÿท๐Ÿท – Jay Miller Miller

Gaines Ridge is THE place to go for dinner in Camden, AL. The restaurant is in a historic home dating back to the 1800โ€™s sitting on beautiful acreage. Dinner was nearly perfect. Waitress was simply delightful. Owner stopped by to make sure all was well. All a winning combination.

We enjoyed a steak and shrimp scampi with baked potatoes and freshly made salads. Like everything at Gaines Ridge, their salad dressings are home made. But whatever you order … save room for dessert. We enjoyed black bottom pie which was a slice of pure heaven. The waitress said it is one of those AL things you have to have before you die, and she was so right. Highly recommend Gaines Ridge. Great food … great service … charming old south atmosphere …. all at a very reasonable price – Darlene Duncan
