what is difference between harshness and scratchiness
harsh + -ness
harshness (countable and uncountable, plural harshnesses)
- The quality of being harsh.
- She wakened in sharp panic, bewildered by the grotesquerie of some half-remembered dream in contrast with the harshness of inclement fact, drowsily realising that since she had fallen asleep it had come on to rain smartly out of a shrouded sky.
scratchy + -ness
- The property of feeling scratchy.
- The scratchiness of this wool sweater is supposed to wear off, but I don’t think it ever will.
